D’expressió amable i propera, la somera de Reus parteix d’un estudi anatòmic de la musculatura i les formes d’un ruc i l’escultura i pintura es perfila amb un delicat treball del pelatge d’aquest animal. Els ulls són de metacrilat i el coll s’engalana amb picarols que sonen al ritme de la seva dansa. Al domàs hi figura la iconografia medieval de la rosa de Reus.
With a friendly and approachable expression, the Somera of Reus starts from an anatomical study of the musculature and shapes of a donkey, and the sculpture and painting are outlined with a delicate work of this animal’s fur. The eyes are made of methacrylate and the neck is decorated with bells that ring to the rhythm of their dance. The medieval iconography of the rose of Reus appears on the dome.
